Gramps (じいさん Jīsan) is an ex-soldier who saved Lacile. He also took in and raised Pipi and Meme.
His true identity is that of Sieg (ジーク Jīku), one of the Three Heroes who ended the World War.[2]
Appearance[]
Gramps has the appearance of an old man with his hair fully white and his mind showing signs of age.[2]
In actuality, he should be in his early 30s as he was in his mid-20s when he picked up Lacile after the World War. When he returned to Lacile after 2 years, he appeared to have rapidly aged. As Gladias calls him a "youngster", Gramps is likely younger than him.[2]
Personality[]
Like Lacile, Gramps believes it is better to work together so that everyone can survive dangerous situations.[2]
He has a habit of repeating certain expressions which are a word short of expressing what he really means.[3]
Background[]
At the end of the World War, Sieg and Gladias scar Barbaros the Great's face but couldn't prevent him from getting away.[4]

After the war, Sieg picks up Lacile. They briefly encounter Gladias.[2] Sieg built a hut in the mountains far from human civilization and trained Lacile for 1 year so that he could live by himself. He was then visited by Arialdo, who had discovered something, and went off with him, leaving Lacile to live by himself for two years. After two years, Sieg returned, appearing to have rapidly aged and accompanied by Pipi and Meme, two transparent-looking twin little girls.[3]

10 years ago, from Leana's perspective, Barbaros appeared at Sieg's house and instantly killed Lacile. Sieg broke the band on his left wrist, de-aging him and restoring his powers.[5] He had obtained a level of power beyond what he had when fighting Barbaros during the World War, and his aging was a means to store this new power. A blast from his rifle exceeded the power of Carrier Weapons and he was able to use his armor Carrier Weapon without using the Photon Energy inside him.[6] However, he failed to stop Barbaros from kidnapping Meme.[7][6] After Lacile left with Leana, Barbaros' attack was the same from Pipi's perspective, the only difference to Leana's being that Lacile was not present and thus not killed.[6]

In the world above, Sieg is imprisoned in one of the Flying Cities,[8] the Karma Liberal Alliance.[9]
